Test Drive Unlimited 2 Life

As predicted way back before the game’s release, Test Drive Unlimited 2 is indeed getting some bikes to play around with. In a post on the game’s official forums, a community manager for Atari says the game’s second DLC pack is scheduled for February 2012. It will bring three bikes, including a Harley and two Ducatis, as well as six new cars, new missions and locations to explore.

You’ll also receive new clothes and furniture to buy, and notice some minor enhancements to the game, like the ability to change car positions in the garage or control headlights. Finally, Test Drive 2 will offer support for some more driving wheel accessories.

The first DLC for the game ended up arriving at no cost thanks to a buggy launch, but it’s been a while — about nine months — since TDU2 has seen new content. Eden Games has, after all, been dealing with other issues.

Bikes are in place! Run to the bike dealer to buy an Harley Davidson or a Ducati. With the release of bikes, 16 new multiplayer challenges reserved for bikes were added.

UPDATE: Looks like the DLC will go live by the end of next week on PC.  PS3 / XBox 360 can expect an additional week or two wait to allow the DLC time to clear QA with Sony / Microsoft. (source)

Dubbed the The Exploration Pack, Atari has given us the low-down on what it includes!

New missions, mission types, cars, features, rewards are just a few of the awesome new content arriving in Ibiza and Oahu!

Drivers may also notice some new shops under construction.  Once completed, these shops will begin selling bikes and motorcycles to adrenaline junkies and motor-sport enthusiasts, new threads for the fashion savvy consumer and places to auction off assets and capital for the business men and women.

Here are the list of fixes:

- Logging into the game should be improved
- Once into the game the online network experience should feel more stable in all areas
- Save games should no longer corrupt
- Existing corrupted save games should be repaired in many cases
- Friends lists should populate correctly
- Invites now work correctly
- Clubs will be brought online very soon
- Some exploits to gain money have been fixed
- Casino access has been improved

The Xbox 360 patch is finally out, clubs and MyTDU2Life should now be working along with many other much needed fixes.

List of fixes:

• Improve login process to allow a higher volume of successful connections
• Increase online stability across all multiplayer functionality
• Improve performance and stability of Friends List and Friend Invites
• Enable Club and MyTDULife functionality (fixes for these will be included in the patch, but they won’t be enabled immediately – we want to test things first)
• Enable Co-Op races
• Enable weather while offline
• Address an issue where players can get a Lancia which has no car data (the patch should prevent this from occurring in the future, and restore players who are currently affected by the issue

Announced today by GMDestra, club functionality within Test Drive Unlimited 2 will be going live with the next patch! PC players have been lucky in that clubs were activated today. Console players can expect the patch to be launched by Wednesday. The patch will also contain numerous fixes which can be viewed at each platforms respective threads.
